So my pal J and I went to FRESH at Ruby Skye last night to see the one and only Kimberly S and to help out the AIDS Marathon + AIDS Lifecycle people.
It was a amazing set while it lasted. You see they stopped it at 10:30 due to the fact that there was three OD's on G , taken away in ambulances
So the promoter had to stop the show. I know for a fact that the city will close them down it it becomes a common occurrence. Hell this afternoon while in the Castro I saw at least five people falling out. Are all these people getting dosed or mistaking substances?

A lot of people were really pissed off, but I was more worried about
the people that got hurt.
Fuck.

Seriously Kiddies:
Alcohol and G don't fucking mix!

Mixing them can lead to deep unconsciousness,
coma, and even death.

One of the most dangerous aspects of using G is the narrow margin between an amount that produces the desired effect, and the amount that results in overdose.

We did meat some nice people. Very cute total strangers Brian and Canh. We made plans to go to another club but they had a long drive. Oh well
thats life, we will hang with them again cause we really clicked. Ben And Drew we there as well, but then again those two are everywhere

SANCTUARY was just opening so we made our way there djs David Knapp + Luke Johnstone were at the helm for this one. Fun fun fun, but so fucking hot in there it was like
a god damn sauna.
Still that didn't make much difference in the end since we danced till 4am.

um later today im going to the waterfront Memorial Day recovery party at
Kelly's Mission Rock with djs Rob Kaftan + Jamie J Sanchez

Once again please take care when you party

UPDATE Please Read

A message from Mike and Janine:

First, let us start by saying we love producing FRESH every month. We love bringing a variety of world-class DJs into a world-class space, and we love that we can offer the gay crowd access to Ruby Skye. It is a club unlike any other in San Francisco, and we're proud to work with their management to produce FRESH.

Second, let us say that the management and ownership at Ruby Skye *loves* FRESH and considers our crowd 'family'. You have shown them respect and you have shown up in force to party in their house once a month. Because of this, they are more than happy to host us, to take care of us and to give us Ruby Skye as a place to call home. FRESH is a *very* important party to the Ruby Skye team and everyone there welcomes us with open arms each month. (Many of the staff say that FRESH is their favorite party to work.)

This is exactly why we closed the party early on 5/25. Here are the facts: We had to call ambulances 3 times to attend to people who had overdosed. At that point, Janine and I collectively decided with the management at Ruby Skye to shut the party down. We made this decision to protect everyone inside, as well as to protect the party and the club. We decided to be proactive, to do the right thing, to act responsibly, to act respectfully and to err on the side of safety and caution at the expense of stopping a great party with a great turnout and a great DJ at the peak of the evening. That said, it was still a very easy decision for us to make. It was simply too risky to continue, and safety is our #1 priority.

What does this mean for the future?

Of course, we are still welcome at Ruby Skye. That hasn't changed. Of course, safety will remain our top priority. Of course, Janine and I will continue to work hard and produce the best events we can produce, with the best DJ talent and a few surprises along the way. Of course, we'll continue to donate a portion of the proceeds to charity, as we have done each month since we opened. We have donated over $75,000 to date and giving back to the community is quite simply one of the most fulfilling aspects of producing this event. What we ask from you in return is to act responsibly, to be respectful of yourself and of others, to respect Ruby Skye's club and staff and to very simply be safe. The risks our crowd takes have far reaching effects, not only for the individual, but for everyone in the community. Please act responsibly so that gay nightlife in San Francisco can continue to flourish and function at the level of cities like New York and LA.

What does this mean for Pride?

Our Pride T-dance with DJ Phil B. will of course go on as planned. For the 5th year running, we are the Official T-Dance of San Francisco Pride, and San Francisco Pride is our beneficiary for June's FRESH event. We are excited about the event, Ruby Skye is excited about it as well, and Phil B. is ready to blow you away. What will be different this year is that we will PRE-SELL the majority of the tickets in the retail outlets and gyms you're already familiar with. There will be a smaller number available at the door, so please plan ahead and purchase your ticket(s) early.

We want to thank you for your patience and understanding. We apologize for the inconvenience of last night, but again, the risk associated with continuing the party was too great. Please help us keep everyone safe, help us keep San Francisco's gay nightlife alive, and help us maintain our outstanding reputation at Ruby Skye (a shining reputation that you all helped us build). We hope to be able to celebrate at Ruby Skye for many years to come, so please party responsibly *regardless* of the event/club you choose to attend. The decisions and acts of the individual affect us all.

For more information on abstention and harm reduction please visit:

www.dancesafe.org.

Feel free to email us with questions and/or concerns at: rsvp@freshsf.com

Thanks for your support!

Mike and Janine

All of us are perfect. All of us are trying to fit somewhere. In our journey to find our place, why would we try to be as another piece. It is a dead end road. As we force ourselves to fit in, life becomes difficult, frustrating and meaningless.

You do not have to try to be something you already are. You simply have to accept that fact, to find peace and happiness in your life. Acceptance is the first step in creating something new. You need to know where you are before you can decide where you want to go. You need to know who you are before you can begin to make changes in your life that reflect your new thoughts about who you want to be.

Self destructive thoughts about who you are is not acceptance. You live in a physical world that is created by you, by your thoughts. Every physical object in your life reflects your thoughts about who and what you think you are. They are perfect symbols of your thought process. When you begin to change your thoughts, your symbols will disappear and be replaced by others. You always fit in, because you change the picture to match your shape, your thoughts about yourself. This how life truly works. It is not a fact that you react to your environment. Your environment reacts to you, because you are creating it.

You have grown up with the notion that you are imperfect and that you are working towards perfection. Know this! You will never be perfect until you know that you are and accept it.

Model: Jana K
Mitternachts Spitzen by Txema Yeste, TUSH #4 2007

Generally speaking, the greater the trust that you had put in the other person and the greater the impact their betrayal has on you, then the greater the distress you will feel.

When you are betrayed by someone, it is highly likely that you will not easily trust them again. Trust is fragile and can be lost instantly or there is a hysteresis whereby a long-earned trust may be eroded and then suddenly lost.

Pink and Black from a few years ago... remember ?

<lj-embed id="3" />

Comments from around the internets

Pink is the story of a stuffed animal and his bestest friend in the whole wide world, The Attractive Blonde Nymphet.

In fact, Mr. Bear cares so much for his lithe BFF that one day, with the help of a magical, metaphor -and fluid- dripping seashell, he turns her into a sequined fuck doll and brutally “snuggles” her.

What we have here can be interpreted as the story of a girl’s sexualizing and commodifying of her body.

In making herself a beautiful, bling-encrusted product, she robs herself of her vitality and innocence, represented by Mr. Bear.

However, twisted pervert that I am, I recognize veiled threats of sodomy when I see them. That said, I stand by my claims of filthy, vicious, ursine toy rape.

A number of metaphors and messages

It makes sense if you picture this as happening in THE FUTURE.

The Bear is a protective sentry purchased for the girl by her hyperparanoid upper-middle-class sexually repressed parents.

In the video, we see the girl having phone sex (as evidenced by the phone, and the oozing vagina shell).

This loss of aural innocence triggers the bear who uses his expertly engineered “carebear stare” to in case the girl in plastic and then rhinestones in order to protect her.

The hug is dual purpose, both to reassure her, and to manually inspect that the casing is secure.

It’s in her best interest, really. In the future, who needs more non-shiny sluts walking around?

Maybe I’m just naive, perhaps there is not anything to be sinister in that Pink movie at all.

It looked like the girl had her first period, transforming her away from girlhood, and dropkicking her into a PMS induced funk.

The teddy bear was just comforting her. Or maybe that’s what he tells the cops.

A seashell. Oozing viscous fluid. And people are arguing this isn’t about nascent tenage sexuality.

Of course, the real tragedy is that Bear and Nymphet’s friendship may never be the same.

This has to do with teen girls suppressing their true personalities and selves in order to fit the image of sexuality presented to them by society.

The change she goes through makes her beautiful, but robs her of life force.

The bear represents the last vestige of her childhood innocence that she tries to get comfort from, but it doesn't work.

This video is about the need to sublimate sexual desire.

The Director needed to tie in the message of his patron, Adidas, who are hoping to sell shoes that you “decorate yourself.”

So the subliminal message of the story is “We know who you are and how you feel. When dealing with this unexpressible desire the answer is - decorate yourself.”

The oozing shell is a not so subtle metaphor for female receptiveness. But notice that in end the flow is not merely stopped, but reversed and the girl regresses to a fetal position.

There is even a “Lions lie down with the lambs” scenario on the bed, which further emphasises the benefit of repressed desire.

The lengthy credits repeat Greg Week’s lyrics in case you missd them the first time:

“They made us this way
For what they can never say
Sent us on our way
It’s useless to make them pay

Holding ground
Holding ground
Holding ground
Holding ground”

<lj-embed id="4" />

Once you go black you never go back.

Roulette, just like life goes by. Amazing, disturbing and deeply thought.

The panda feels rejection and lonelyness resulting in his life of alcohol and cigerettes.

Panda and Fish play a game of Russian roulette. Upon killing his friend, he's wallowing in a distant guilt that had become a part of him.

The disturbing actions he made (killing his friend) continues to consume or "play/manipulate" his life (hence the fish returning to play music upon his spinal cord).

Love will tear us apart. Joy Division reference.

More on black later

The rest of the series was so so

I just found these on my hard drive

So you get the the waves of nostagial bliss

Fuck your shoes

Give me more art
